Party consensus can choice, but my place in Grove City is always available. If we choose my place, food and drinks will be provided.
I would prefer we meet 2-3 times a month. Friday, Saturdays, or Sundays are okay.
An all day Saturday or Sunday would be best so we could complete something in one day. Whatever works best for everyone.
4-5 players desired
Start with standard races and classes
Balanced group required, one of each: warrior, healer, caster, and rogue
If you intend to achieve a prestige class it must be stated early on and worked into the story.
Challenges will be balanced such that all player skills will be needed.
Each PC should either create a rough sketch of their character or find a portrait that closely matches.
I would like to run a Ravenloft adventure as I have almost every book/module produced. The adventure “Expedition to Castle Ravenloft” looks most promising, but I'd want to build up to it first.
Ravenloft Setting:
Areas of medieval, chivalric, and renaissance with a dark atmosphere in a tainted land.
Standard 3.5 rules with a few changes to fit the worlds taint, mostly effecting certain divination and negative energy magic.
No additional books will be needed.
Yes, there will be undead, but there will be just as many living things to fear too.
Some module ideas are:
The Sunless Citadel (lvl 1)
Bride of Modenheim (lvl 1)
Night of the Walking Dead (lvl 1-3)
Touch of Death (lvl 3-4)
Adam's Wrath (lvl 5-7)
Dark of the Moon (lvl 5-9)
Expedition to Castle Ravenloft (lvl 7-10)
And I have many others.
Effort will be taken to create complex NPCs that cross modules and will make the world *interesting*.
I love roll playing the monsters to their fullest potential. Thus, don't expect all encounters to be defeated the first time or with simple brute force.
See DMG page 169 “Standard Point Buy”
Start with 65 gold each.
You should have your character built before the first gathering. I will ask you to send it.
Characters will be allowed one starting special item that can be magical or of significant value. Ask the DM.
You can take one extra feet at first level.
Each PC will can receive and object of value at starting. The value of the item will determine what level you acquire it or when you are able to activate the item. Some examples are:
The sword your grandfather acquired in the lost wars
The suit of armor given to your family after your father died saving the king.
Your uncles first spell book.
The amulet protection your passed down from mother to mother as long as your family remembers.
The jeweled danger your mother stole from Lord Keldon
Your character should rely more on their own skills then the items they carry.
Magic items are not indestructible and do not auto resize unless their powers say so.
You will be set against impossible enemies with zero intent of them defeating that enemy. Thus, I recommend not engaging in combat unless you feel you have an overwhelming advantage (meaning all PCs will live). Retreating is an option. Regrouping and planning is an option. Returning at a higher level, or seeking items of power are also options.
The most important factor in gaming is that play does not stall. Thus, as DM, I will make calls to keep things moving. We can look up the rules later.
