College Robotics Club

The robotics club was founded by my friends and I.

We had hoped to relive our experiences from the FIRST robotics program in high school. Of course that included designing and building what ever we could dream up.

For the first year, we had decided on a very simple robot.

We recruited almost 20 members to form 3 teams.

Each team was to build a mini sumo robot that had to follow a line.

A competition was held between the 3 teams.

The goal was a simple line tracking robot that would have to battle its way through another robot to the finish line.

It was a success.

I was voted in as vice president.

The club voted on the next project.

It was to be one large project that everyone could contribute to.

A walking 6 legged robot for less then 1500$.

Sketches and drawings were produced. Much time was devoted in the machine shop.

Time passed quickly as I entered my senior year.

I was forced to abandon the club my senior year. Work, senior design and taking 21 credits was my limit.

I left the drawings and a nearly completed frame to the club.

I've heard since then that a teacher had picked up the pieces and the club continues to exist.
