High School Robotics Club

The robotics program was part of an organization called FIRST. http://www.usfirst.org
FIRST robotics is a program for high school students. The general concept is simple. 6 weeks are given to design and deliver a robot to compete in a global competition. The FIRST website is a good source for learning more about the competitions.

My first chance to test the drive train. The turning system was smoother then most tank treads.

About 4 weeks into the build.

The finished robot… Before the in competition changes.

This was my final year in the robotics club.

I designed a special drive train over the summer prior to the start of the competition.

The 6 wheeled design allowed the robot to turn easier then 4 wheeled tank turning robots.

My team and I took first place in a regional competition, second place in Canada and our final score placed 6th in the national competition in Texas.
